There's nothing like relaxing with a great whiskey and a good Blues album. And this album from the father of blues is one of the best. At Newport was recorded live in 1960 at the Newport Jazz festival. The Album was remastered in 2001 and released on CD. Which gives you great quality for a live album recorded 50 years ago.Muddy Waters plays with a full backing band and when the first track, "I've got my brand on you," starts you can hear that distinctive Muddy Waters sound that influenced so many of our favorite bands today. It moves through a few emotions starting with slow Chicago blues picking up just at the right points to keep it entertaining.
If you are a blues fan you already know this album. If you want to get into blues, this is a great place to start.
